With another piece of silverware in the cabinet, Liverpool return to league action with the visit of West Ham to Anfield.

West Ham, in contrast, were dumped out by a vibrant Southampton side, although last weekend's 1-0 win over Wolves in the Premier League certainly boosted their top four hopes.

Klopp also admitted that he had to withdraw Curtis Jones in the midweek win over Norwich with a thigh problem, although the German is hopeful the midfielder will be passed fit this weekend.

Andriy Yarmolenko was given compassionate leave following the events in Ukraine, while there is no timescale on the returns of Arthur Masuaku, Vladimir Coufal and Ryan Fredericks. Centre-back Angelo Ogbonna is unlikely to be seen again this season.

The Reds tasted their first defeat of the Premier League season in the reverse fixture at the London Stadium in November.

A Trent Alexander-Arnold free-kick cancelled out Alisson's own goal in the first half, before Moyes' men raced out to a 3-1 lead through goals from Pablo Fornals and Kurt Zouma.

Divock Origi reduced the arrears for Liverpool late on, with the Hammers securing a first victory over Klopp's side since an FA Cup triumph at Upton Park back in 2016.

11 wins in a row have followed for Liverpool since their goalless draw with Arsenal at Anfield in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final in January.

So imperious has Klopp's side been in 2022 that they have cut the gap to Man City at the top of the Premier League to six points with a game in hand.

West Ham's defensive resilience will pose a probem for Liverpool, but the Reds are playing with enough swagger to get them over the line.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-0 West Ham
