Liverpool's team bus has been blocked on its way to the team hotel prior to their rearranged clash with Manchester United.

The two teams were originally scheduled to meet on May 2 though the game was cancelled as United fans made their way onto the pitch in protest over the club's decision to join the Super League.

It now looks like further demonstrations are expected ahead of the rearranged game, with fans gathering on Sir Matt Busby Way and Liverpool's team bus intercepted before having its tyres deflated.

There is another team bus at the hotel where the players are staying, though for now it looks as though the targeted bus is mobile and is receiving a police escort to ensure it completes its journey.

The ugly scenes which marred the build-up to the originally arranged Premier League clash between Liverpool and Manchester United saw hundreds of fans breach security before making their way onto the Old Trafford pitch.

The crowd eventually dispersed as police attended the ground, but the demonstrations continued outside Old Trafford with police forced to physically remove some fans from the area.

With crowds of United fans already gathering outside the ground, tonight's game seems far from safe just a few hours before kick off.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are already being forced to shoehorn an extra fixture into their already packed schedule following the postponement of their clash with Jurgen Klopp's side, and United can ill afford to have the contest rearranged once again.

That being said, United's place in the Champions League spots is at least secured, while Liverpool are desperately fighting for their place in the top four and the possible postponement could seriously harm their chances.
