Liverpool make the journey down to the south coast on Sunday to face Southampton with little on the line on the Premier League's final day.

The Reds can no longer make the top four and cannot be caught by Brighton in sixth, meaning they will finish fifth and play Europa League football at Anfield next season.

Here's the side manager Jurgen Klopp could name to bring a disappointing campaign to an end.

GK: Alisson - Reached the milestone of 100 Liverpool clean sheets when he kept out Brentford's attack in a 1-0 win earlier in May.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold - Back in the England squad after a wonderful return to form courtesy of his positional change.

CB: Joel Matip - Still some indecision over his future but quite likely to be squeezed out of Liverpool's starting XI by Ibrahima Konate if he does stay.

CB: Virgil van Dijk - Was recently spotted handing out McFlurrys at a McDonalds drive-thru. Oh, and also used to play for Southampton.

LB: Kostas Tsimikas - Andy Robertson has a groin problem, so Greece international Tsimikas may get his ninth Premier League start of the season.

CM: Jordan Henderson - Henderson is one stalwart who will remain at Anfield over the summer with his contract due to run out in 2025.

CM: Fabinho - Can use the summer to recharge ahead of the 2023/24 with improved displays desired from Liverpool fans.

CM: Curtis Jones - Has been a leading figure in Liverpool's strong end to the season, his two-goal display at Leicester one particular highlight.

RW: Mohamed Salah - Can bring up 20 league goals by netting at St Mary's following a late glut of strikes.

ST: Roberto Firmino - Should get a final outing as a Reds player. 110 goals in 361 appearances alongside Premier League and Champions League triumphs make him a modern Anfield great.

LW: Luis Diaz - Diaz is part of an exciting forward line for next season. Missed much of the campaign through injury but should be able to conjure up a solid partnership with Cody Gakpo and Salah in the future.
