Liverpool players who have never lost a Premier League game at Anfield
By Ali Rampling
Liverpool's imperious Premier League home record was finally brought to an end by the mighty Burnley on Thursday evening.
The Clarets inflicted a maiden top flight defeat at Anfield since April 2017 on Jurgen Klopp's side - and in doing so, a number players lost in the Premier League at Anfield for the first time in their Liverpool careers.
Alisson Becker, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Andy Robertson, Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane all tasted defeat in the top flight at Anfield for the first time thanks to Sean Dyche's side's victory, leaving an exclusive group of players who have played more than 10 Premier League games at home for Liverpool without suffering a loss (via Duncan Alexander).
5. Loris Karius
Well, well, well.
The slightly chaotic German is still a Liverpool player, but has been out on loan since the arrival of Alisson Becker in the summer of 2018.
For all Alisson's composure on the ball, shot stopping ability and the calmness he exudes, he did concede the penalty that ultimately resulted in his first ever Premier League defeat at Anfield. Karius in comparison is 17 unbeaten in the top flight at Anfield - a stat that is worth more than any Champions League medal.
4. Stephen Warnock
The left back came through the Liverpool ranks, making his senior debut in 2004 before moving to Blackburn in January 2007.
Warnock played 40 times for Liverpool in the Premier League, including 19 appearances at Anfield. And he didn't lose a single one.
Highlights in the former England international's unbeaten Anfield run include a 5-1 win over Fulham in 2006, where he scored his only goal for the club.
3. Albert Riera
A personal favourite.
Riera was one of a selection of quirky signings made by Rafa Benitez at Liverpool - for every Xabi Alonso, there was always a Jan Kromkamp, a Gabriel Paletta or an Albert Riera.
The left back arrived on Merseyside in 2008 and departed in 2010, playing a full 24 Premier League games at Anfield and never tasting defeat - the equivalent of going more than entire season unbeaten at home.
2. Naby Keita
An ankle injury - roughly the eighth different ailment the midfielder has suffered since joining the Reds in 2018 - kept Keita out of Liverpool's squad for their defeat to Burnley, meaning his unbeaten Premier League Anfield record remains intact.
The Guinean international has made 25 top flight appearances at Anfield, and such has been the Reds' superiority, he has been on the winning side on 21 occasions.
Remarkably, Burnley are responsible for 50% of the times that Keita has not won at the Premier League at Anfield - Thursday's 1-0 loss and a 1-1 draw back in July 2002.
1. Virgil van Dijk
Van Dijk was branded the missing piece of the puzzle when he joined Liverpool from Southampton in January 2018.
The defender was missing against Burnley due to the ACL injury that is set to sideline him for the majority of the season, preserving his unbeaten top flight record at Anfield.
Van Dijk has not lost in 47 home Premier League games for Liverpool, his last top flight defeat at Anfield coming back in November 2017 for Southampton: Philippe Coutinho was on the scoresheet, Ragnar Klavan and Alberto Moreno started in the Reds backline and Dominic Solanke was an unused sub.
