Liverpool 2022/23 season preview: How to watch, summer transfers & league prediction
Liverpool will be looking to dethrone Manchester City and enjoy more success in Europe after a successful but ultimately disappointing 2021/22 campaign.
The Reds took home the Carabao Cup and FA Cup but were denied a historic quadruple by City in the Premier League and Real Madrid in the Champions League.
The club have made some shrewd additions in the transfer market to compensate one major outgoing transfer, and expectations remain high on Merseyside.

Liverpool key players 2022/23
Star player
We could probably make an excellent case for about seven or eight starting XI regulars here, but we're going to go for the giant at the back that is Virgil van Dijk.
The Dutch colossus was imperious again last term after missing almost all of the 2020/21 campaign with an ACL injury. Van Dijk is rarely beaten in the air and positions himself perfectly, snuffing out attacks consistently to give Liverpool the platform to attack relentlessly.
One to watch
Liverpool are blessed with a large array of talented youngsters, but the newest face on the scene is Fabio Carvalho, freshly arrived from Fulham.
The Portugal Under-21 international netted ten Championship goals last season and looked right at home during his cameo appearance in the Community Shield victory against Manchester City. There's a lot of competition for places, but the early signs indicate Carvalho will get plenty of game time.

Liverpool Premier League prediction
Liverpool went close in league and European action last season but had to settle for both domestic cups. This year, the aim will again be to challenge for the Premier League title.
They were pipped on the final day of last season, but with Darwin Nunez adding to their threatening forward line the hope is they can go one further this time around.
However, Manchester City remain title favourites and Jurgen Klopp's Reds may have to settle for second place again.
