Jonny Evans is yet to start a Premier League game this season and remains an injury doubt against his former club with an ongoing problem. Wesley Fofana is also a longer-term absentee at the back.

Wilfred Ndidi's continued loss is a big blow to the Foxes. He missed the Crystal Palace game last time out and is likely to be sidelined for the rest of the month with a thigh problem.

Boubakary Soumare could have benefitted from continuing to train and settle during the international break as he gets used to his new surroundings.

Raphael Varane has joined Harry Maguire on the injured list after suffering a groin problem while on international duty. That is likely to mean Eric Bailly will get his first Premier League minutes of the season, alongside Victor Lindelof.

Marcus Rashford is in line to make his first appearance of the season after missing the start of the campaign because of shoulder surgery in the summer. Amad Diallo has also resumed training.

Edinson Cavani and Fred will only make it back from South America after international duty with Uruguay and Brazil respectively the day before the game.

Leicester have had the beating of Manchester United in recent meetings. The Foxes won 2-1 at Old Trafford in the Premier League in May and 3-1 at the King Power in the FA Cup in March, while the last league meeting at the King Power on Boxing Day 2020 finished 2-2.

From the start of the 2016/17 season until the end of 2019/20, United won seven Premier League games out of eight against Leicester - the other was a draw - as well as the Community Shield.

One of the most famous Premier League games between the clubs was the first time they met after Leicester returned to the top flight in 2014. Louis van Gaal's United raced into an early lead at the King Power, including an exquisite lob from Angel Di Maria, but the Foxes scored four without reply in the second half to eventually run out 5-3 winners.

Leicester vs Man Utd score prediction

This is a Leicester side that hasn't started the season particularly well. They haven't won a league match since August and are currently a shadow of the side that has narrowly missed out on a top four place in each of the last two years.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have learned his lesson from trying to rest Cristiano Ronaldo last time out and probably won't make the same mistake here, especially with Leicester vulnerable.

There are, however, weaknesses in the United team that will visit. Defensively, they will be patched up and there is still a lack of cohesion further forward. But moments of individual brilliance have dragged them through so far and could prove to be decisive again in a high-scoring affair.

Prediction: Leicester 2-3 Man Utd
