Leicester have made their first signing of the January transfer window with the addition of striker Remy Siemsen from Sydney FC.

The Australia international has previously enjoyed spells with Manly United, Sydney FC, California Storm and Western Sydney Wanderers, and has been capped four times at senior level for her country.

Siemsen becomes the first signing for Leicester boss Willie Kirk following his appointment in November.

"To be joining such a prestigious club is exciting for myself and my family," said Siemsen. "We've all grown up watching English football, and being able to come across and play with a club like Leicester City is dream come true.

"The facilities here are amazing, I've never seen a facility so professional before. Everyone has been so welcoming and I feel right at home already. I want to help this team be successful, and every week is a new challenge."

Siemsen is not set to be the final new addition for Leicester during the January window as the Foxes continue their bid to avoid the drop.

90min understands Leicester are set to complete the signing of Bayern Munich goalkeeper Janina Leitzig.

The 23-year-old made 21 appearances for Bayern last term in place of the injured Laura Benkarth, but has since found herself behind youngster Maria-Luisa Grohs in the pecking order this season.

Leitzig did not travel with Bayern to their training camp in Doha this month, and has a contract with the German outfit until 2024.

Kirsty Levell and Demi Lambourne are currently Leicester's first choice goalkeepers, with the former starting seven WSL matches this season, and the latter two.

The Foxes are bottom of the WSL, having lost all nine of their league matches this term and conceding 25 goals.
