Leicester predicted lineup vs Manchester City - Premier League
Leicester City will face their toughest test of the Premier League season so far when they host Manchester City on Saturday.
The Foxes are currently sitting on six points after three games with narrow victories over Norwich and Wolves coming either side of a crushing defeat at the hands of West Ham.
Injuries and suspensions mean Brendan Rodgers has a few selection dilemmas to solve this weekend. Here is the starting XI he is most likely to go with...
1. Goalkeeper & defenders
Kasper Schmeichel (GK) - Danny Ward may have started all three of Wales' World Cup qualifiers in the international break but that won't be enough to displace Leicester's number one who will face his former club on Saturday.
Ricardo Pereira (RB) - Pereira limped off with a hamstring problem against Norwich last time out, being replaced by Timothy Castagne. Luckily, he has recovered from the knock and is fit to play against City.
Daniel Amartey (CB) - In an ideal world Amartey would be nowhere near the starting XI. However, with Jannik Vestergaard, Jonny Evans and Wesley Fofana all injured, Brendan Rodgers has no choice but to select the Ghanaian.
Caglar Soyuncu (CB) - Soyuncu never looks comfortable without the experienced Evans alongside him. He has made a shaky start to the season and will need to step up against the champions if his side are to have any chance of getting a result.
Luke Thomas (LB) - Ryan Bertrand is back in training following his brush with Covid-19 and Rodgers may be tempted to go with his experience against City. Then again, Thomas has never let his manager down and deserves to keep his place in the side.
2. Midfielders
Marc Albrighton (RM) - Coming in for the suspended Ayoze Perez for the Norwich game, Albrighton played well, assisting Jamie Vardy for the winner. His defensive discipline will be required against City with Jack Grealish starting the season so well.
Youri Tielemans (CM) - Linked with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United recently, Tielemans has shaken off an injury sustained on international duty and will start.
Wilfred Ndidi (CM) - Ndidi's ball-winning capabilities will be vital as Leicester look to avoid being passed to death on Saturday. He could be tired though, having only just returned from international duty with Nigeria.
Harvey Barnes (LM) - Barnes has not yet found his rhythm this season and with new signing Ademola Lookman in contention following a deadline-day move from RB Leipzig, he will be hoping to put in a good display.
James Maddison (AM) - Like Barnes, Maddison has made a slow start to the campaign. Kelechi Iheanacho probably deserves a spot in the team over him, but Rodgers will likely go with an extra midfielder against City.
3. Forwards
Jamie Vardy (ST) - Vardy has already notched two goals in three games this season and has a terrific record against City. With Iheanacho and Patson Daka waiting in the wings he will need to keep up this form throughout the season.
