Leicester City will face Chelsea in the 2021 FA Cup final after a second-half Kelechi Iheanacho strike gave them a 1-0 win over Southampton.

The first half of the semi-final was a dull affair with Southampton failing to register a single shot on goal. Jamie Vardy went closest to scoring with a failed lob, while Wilfred Ndidi flicked a header onto the bar.

After the break Leicester took the lead when Iheanacho converted Vardy's cross at the second attempt. The Foxes then survived a minor scare when Ibrahima Diallo's shot flew just wide, while James Maddison spurned a good chance to settle it after coming on as a substitute.

In the endm though, Leicester held out fairly easily. They will now be looking forward to their meeting with Thomas Tuchel's side on 15 May.

Here are your player ratings for both teams from Wembley Stadium...

LEICESTER CITY PLAYER RATINGS

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Danny Ings, Kasper Schmeichel

Kasper Schmeichel (GK) - 6/10 - Dealt with Southampton's minimal pressure in the second half, claiming a few high balls into the box.

Wesley Fofana (CB) - 8/10 - Won the overwhelming majority of his duels in the air and on the ground. He was tidy on the ball as well. No wonder Manchester United want him.

Caglar Soyuncu (CB) - 6/10 - Not tested too much on his return to the back three. He made a few rash decisions, including body checking Ings which could have got him sent off.

Jonny Evans (CB) - 7/10 - Composed. He marshalled the backline brilliantly, particularly in the second half when the pressure was on.

2. Wing-backs & midfielders

Ayoze Perez, Ibrahima Diallo

Timothy Castagne (RWB) - 7/10 - A quiet evening going forward but he was spotless defensively, completing four tackles.

Youri Tielemans (CM) - 7/10 -
Classy throughout. He excelled in most areas rarely giving the ball away and pulling the strings from deep.

Wilfred Ndidi (CM) - 7/10 -
A real danger from set pieces with one of his headers hitting the bar. Made it difficult for Southampton in the middle.

Ricardo Pereira (LWB) - 6/10 -
Huffed and puffed on his weaker side for an hour. Still looks some way off his best.

Ayoze Perez (AM) - 6/10 -
He kept his discipline out of possession and pressed well, but did not do much on the ball.

3. Forwards

Kelechi Iheanacho

Kelechi Iheanacho (ST) - 8/10 - Showed intelligent movement to get free for his goal. He deserved the luck he got afterwards. Also dropped deep to carve out chances for his teammates.

Jamie Vardy (ST) - 7/10 -
Missed a good chance in the first half but made up for it by creating Iheancho's opener. Looked sharp and kept the Saints back line on their toes.

4. Substitutes

James Maddison, Chris Kavanagh

Marc Albrighton - 6/10 - Always a reliable performer.

James Maddison - 6/10 - Missed a great chance that would have settled the game. Was always busy.

SOUTHAMPTON PLAYER RATINGS

5. Goalkeeper & defenders

Fraser Forster, Kelechi Iheanacho
Forster could not keep out Iheanacho's strike / Pool/Getty Images

Fraser Forster (GK) - 6/10 - Little he could do about Iheanacho's goal. Did fine.

Kyle Walker-Peters (RB) - 5/10 - Did not venture forward enough. Defended well though, depriving Pereira of any joy.

Jan Bednarek (CB) - 6/10 - Read the game well, registering six interceptions. Vardy caused him a few problems, most notbaly for the opener.

Jannik Vestergaard (CB) - 6/10 - Fine. His passing was not without its errors but his dominance in the air was impressive.

Ryan Bertrand (LB) - 4/10 - Lost Iheanacho for the opener and then failed to prevent him scoring. Offered nothing going forward.

6. Midfielders

Moussa Djenepo, Wesley Fofana

Stuart Armstrong (RM) - 5/10 - Progressed his side up the pitch. Final ball was not great.

James Ward-Prowse (CM) - 6/10 - At the centre of anything his side created, which wasn't that much to be fair. Was combative in the middle as well.

Ibrahima Diallo (CM) - 5/10 - Picked up a needless yellow card in the first five minutes. His decision making was poor throughout.

Moussa Djenepo (LM) - 4/10 - Not involved anywhere near enough. When he did get opportunities he snatched at it.

7. Forwards

Nathan Redmond (ST) - 4/10 - Pretty poor. Only had 15 touches of the ball in an hour.

Danny Ings (ST) - 5/10 -
Entirely starved of service in the first half. More involved as things progressed but his teammates did not make the most of his talents.

8. Substitutes

Che Adams - 6/10 - Brightened Saints up. Perhaps should have started.

Theo Walcott - 5/10 - Could not get into the game.
