Leeds team news

Marcelo Bielsa's biggest concern was the availability of Raphinha, but he is one of a handful of Brazilian players who will not be banned after FIFA reneged on proposals to stop the players who didn't travel to South America for international duty from participating.

Bielsa admitted on Friday afternoon that he still was not sure if he would feature, but a last-minute reprieve means he is available. Robin Koch remains out but new signing Daniel James is in line for a debut following his move from Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp has also been boosted by the news that Alisson and Fabinho are available to play.

The Brazilian duo had also been threatened by the proposed five-day ban, but should both now take their place in the starting lineup. Virgil van Dijk is fit and available, as is Harvey Elliott - who appears to have shrugged off a injury niggle.

Roberto Firmino is definitely out while James Milner is a doubt.

Leeds vs Liverpool predicted lineups

Leeds vs Liverpool head-to-head record

Liverpool's recent record against Leeds is brilliant on paper, with their last defeat to the Whites coming all the way back in 2001.

However, that does not tell the whole story. The pair only met twice after Leeds' relegation from the Premier League in 2004 with the Reds securing two narrow victories in the League Cup. Last season, Liverpool just edged a seven goal thriller at Anfield before the two sides played out an entertaining 1-1 draw at Elland Road.

Leeds vs Liverpool score prediction

On paper, this is surely destined to be the game of the weekend. Both teams like to press high up the pitch which should leave plenty of gaps in midfield to exploit.

What's more, each side has an abundance of attacking talent and the raucous Elland Road atmosphere will energise the players. All these ingredients must lead to an entertaining game right?

Wrong.

Life is unfair, meaning this epic on paper could end up being the best 0-0 of the season.

Prediction: Leeds 0-0 Liverpool
