West Ham secured a brilliant away win as they came from a goal behind to beat Leeds 2-1 at Elland Road on Friday night.

Mateusz Klich handed the home side the lead from the penalty spot after Patrick Bamford was taken down by Lukasz Fabianski. The West Ham shot-stopper saved the original penalty, only for VAR to order a retake after the Poland international stepped off his line, with his compatriot making no mistake second time around.

The visitors responded midway through the first half after Tomas Soucek towered above Stuart Dallas to head his side level.

Both sides pushed for a winner in the second period, though there only ever looked like being one winner, with Angelo Ogbonna powering home a late header to grab a deserved three points for David Moyes' side.

That's the match highlights out of the way, now onto the Leeds and West Ham's player ratings.

LEEDS UNITED

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Illan Meslier (GK) - 6/10 - Showed indecision throughout the evening and made a right meal of West Ham 's equaliser. Redeemed himself with a host of good saves in the second half.

Stuart Dallas (RB) - 6/10 - Little he could do to prevent Soucek leaping above him to nod home. A solid if not spectacular performance.

Luke Ayling (CB) - 7/10 - Slotted into centre-back seamlessly and looked assured all evening, throwing his body at every shot which came his way.

Liam Cooper (CB) - 6/10 - Did brilliantly to anticipate Sebastian Haller's poor touch before threading through to Bamford to win the penalty, but caught out for the winner.

Ezgjan Alioski (LB) - 5/10 - Tasked with plugging the gap at left-back again but was more of a winger for most of the evening. Looked reckless whenever he was tasked with defending and didn't offer much in the final third.

2. Midfielders

Kalvin Phillips (CM) - 7/10 - The kind of performance that's seen him become a regular in the England setup. Recycled possession well and displayed a brilliant range of passing on a difficult surface.

Mateusz Klich (CM) - 6/10 - Kept his composure from the spot after seeing his original penalty saved. Industrious in midfielder and kept things ticking over, but perhaps guilty of overplaying at times.

Rodrigo (AM) - 5/10 - Afforded licence to roam as he popped up in areas of space and looked to create. Failed to really make the most of some promising positions.

3. Forwards

Raphinha (RW) - 5/10 - Added pace to the Leeds frontline but struggled to find a killer pass when it really mattered.

Patrick Bamford (ST) - 6/10 - Clever forward play to win his side the penalty which put them ahead on the evening. Many of his good runs weren't picked out by his teammates on a frustrating night for the forward.

Jack Harrison (LW) - 5/10 - Poor on the night, plenty of running but never really looked like creating anything.

Helder Costa (RW) - 5/10

Jamie Shackleton (CM) - 6/10

5. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Lukasz Fabianski (GK) - 6/10 - Produced a smart save from Klich's penalty but couldn't prevent the Leeds midfielder from the retake.

Vladimir Coufal (RB) - 6/10 - Not afforded the licence to attack like he usually is but adapted well and was defensively sound all night.

Fabian Balbuena (CB) - 6/10 - Looked composed all evening and could easily have found himself on the scoresheet were it not for a great save from Meslier.

Angelo Ogbonna (CB) - 7/10 - Couldn't cope with Bamford's movement as the former Chelsea man won the Leeds penalty but did brilliantly to put his lapse in concentration behind him and grab the winner.

Aaron Cresswell (LB) - 7/10 - Reverted to his usual left-back spot after playing on the left of a back three. Subsequently able to provide more of a threat with his wand of a left foot and was menacing all night.

6. Midfielders

Tomas Soucek (CM) - 7/10 - Industrious and combative, pretty much exactly what we expect from him by now. Produced a superb header to draw his side level.

Declan Rice (CM) - 6/10 - Tidy performance from a midfielder who looks to have stepped up a level this season. Didn't stop running and was a constant outlet for his defenders.

Said Benrahma (AM) - 6/10 - His first start for West Ham after a number of promising appearances from the bench. Played off the frontman but didn't neglect his defensive duties as he dropped into midfield.

7. Forwards

Jarrod Bowen (RW) - 7/10 - Caused a threat coming in from the right and linked up well with his teammates. Beginning to thrive under Moyes.

Sebastien Haller (ST) - 5/10 -
Awful first touch saw him dispossessed in the lead up to Leeds' opener. Played better in the second half but a frustrating evening.

Pablo Fornals (LM) - 6/10 -
Busy on the West Ham left and did a good job of dropping back into midfield when out of possession.
