England gave their goal difference in World Cup qualifying another healthy boost by dispatching of Latvia 10-0 on Tuesday night, with Manchester United's Ella Toone scoring a hat trick.

The game was essentially an attack vs defence exercise, with Latvia simply never looking threatening against a side 94 places above them in the FIFA rankings.

While Northern Ireland made them wait until after the hour mark for their first goal, the Lionesses took the lead inside ten minutes when Toone fired home from inside the box.

She grabbed her second when she stroked in Kirby's pass, while Ellen White and Millie Bright also netted before half time. Beth Mead finished nicely to make it 5-0 before Toone completed her hat trick by thumping in from close range.

Substitute Rachel Daly tapped in another, captain Leah Williamson curled home, Georgia Stanway got the ninth after cutting inside and Daly made it double figures by rounding the goalkeeper.

The victory affirms the strong position Sarina Wiegman's side have in Group D, having won all their games with a goal difference of plus 32.

Hopefully that's everything rounded up - here are the ratings from England's easy night's work.

England women player ratings

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Mary Earps (GK) - 6/10 - Should have brought a stool, a book to read and a blanket to keep her warm. Simply had nothing to do, so did some jogging in her box towards the end of the game to stay warm.

Millie Bright (CB) - 7/10 - Hit the crossbar with a speculative and loopy effort from just outside the box and later got on the scoresheet by prodding in at the back post.

Leah Williamson (CB) - 8/10 - The captain was calm and diligent with the ball all evening and tucked away her side's eighth of the evening nicely.

Alex Greenwood (CB) - 7/10 - Not tested in defence and brought off at half time.

2. Midfielders

Beth Mead (RM) - 7/10 - Had time and space frequently on the right to exploit. Scored England's first goal of the second half, converting nicely from a tight angle, and got two assists later in the game.

Fran Kirby (CM) - 8/10 - Buzzed around the edge of the box and always looked threatening. Teed up Toone's second and a good free kick led to Bright's strike. Made way for Georgia Stanway at the break.

Keira Walsh (CM) - 7/10 - Showed great awareness to set up Toone's second. Good throughout but not tested.

Ella Toone (CM) - 9/10 - The Manchester United youngster gave the Lionesses the lead with a composed finish early on. Her second was the result of a brilliant team move, slamming in from Kirby's layoff. Lovely touch and pass to set up White. A memorable night for the 22-year-old.

Lauren Hemp (LM) - 7/10 - Got in consistently down the left, just like Mead on the opposite side. Hit the post but earned England a penalty in the same action as she was clattered by Latvia goalkeeper Enija-Anna Vaivode. Subbed at half time, so the wait for her first international goal goes on.

3. Forwards

Beth England (ST) - 6/10 - Was a bit wasteful with some chances early on and couldn't get among the goals despite them being there for the taking.

Ellen White (ST) - 7/10 - Like strike partner England, just snatched at a few opportunities before getting her 44th goal for the Lionesses in the 23rd minute. Had a penalty saved and also hit the crossbar before half time when she was brought off. Is now second on England's all-time scoring list.

4. Substitutes

Nikita Parris (LM) - 7/10 - Set up Stanway's strike.

Demi Stokes (CB) - 6/10

Rachel Daly (ST) - 8/10 - Bundled one goal in on the line and rounded the goalkeeper nicely for her second.

Georgia Stanway (CM) - 8/10 - Got a brace of assists and scored England's final goal of the night.

Lotte Wubben-Moy (CM) - 6/10 - Headed a decent opportunity wide.
