LA Galaxy have acquired midfielder Rayan Raveloson from Ligue 2 side ES Troyes AC on a three year deal with a club option for a fourth.

Pending the arrival of his P-1 Visa and ITC, Raveloson occupies an International Roster spot for LA Galaxy.

Raveloson joins Major League Soccer after leading ES Troyes AC to the 2020/21 Ligue 2 title, where the club lead with 77 points and scored 60 goals.

His career began with Tours FC in 2014, making 90 appearances and providing six goals and six assists for the French side in four years. In 2018, he made the move to Troyes, adding significant value to the club both on and off the pitch. In total, the 24-year-old has made 151 appearances in France and has earned 11 caps for the Madagascan national team.

“Rayan is a talented, young and versatile midfielder who was a key player in leading his team to a title in France this season,” Galaxy GM Dennis te Kloese said in a statement. “We think he brings valuable experience and skillset to our midfield and will be a positive addition to our team. We look forward to him joining the club and his contributions to the LA Galaxy.”

The Madagascar midfielder stands as the team’s fourth addition from France’s major leagues in the last two months. Since Greg Vanney was appointed head coach, the team has acquired Samuel Grandsir from AS Monaco, Kevin Cabral from Valenciennes FC and Sega Coulibaly from AS Nancy.

Raveloson joins Adam Saldana and Jonathan dos Santos as the team’s options for the midfield, creating healthy competition among the group. LA Galaxy has surprised fans this season with a phenomenal start as they sit second in the Western Conference with 12 points after five games.

They next face the Portland Timbers on Saturday.
