After their nightmarish start to the season, Juventus managed to string together some form before the October international break and they will be hoping that resurgence continues when they host Roma in Turin on Sunday evening.

Their opponents have impressed under new manager Jose Mourinho so far, winning five of their opening seven Serie A games.

Mourinho has only ever lost twice to Max Allegri during his managerial career (out of eight meetings) and he will be desperate to avoid a third loss in Turin.

Juventus team news

Juventus are likely to be without strikers Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata, both of whom were absent from international duty with injuries.

Juan Cuadrado did travel to play for Colombia and although it will be a very tight turnaround, he is still expected to feature against Roma.

Aside from those concerns, Allegri pretty much has a clean bill of health.

Roma were dealt a major blow when Tammy Abraham sprained his ankle while on international duty with England. The problem looks likely to rule him out, but he could still make it - subject to a late fitness test.

Fellow Englishman Chris Smalling will also be missing, but the talented Nicolo Zaniolo should be fit enough to feature.

Juventus vs Roma predicted lineups

Roma: Patricio; Karsdorp, Mancini, Ibanez, Vina; Cristante, Veretout; Zaniolo, Pellegrini, Mkhitaryan; Shomurodov

Juventus vs Roma head-to-head record

These two giants of Italian and European football have met 189 times previously, with Juventus tasting victory on 89 occasions to Roma's 47.

Most recently, the record is far more even. Since the beginning of the 2018/19 campaign, Juventus have beaten Roma three times in Serie A, while I Giallorossi have won twice. The other meeting ended all square.

Last season Juventus won their home fixture 2-0 thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo strike and an Ibanez own goal.

Juventus vs Roma score prediction

This one is shaping up to be a cracker and it is definitely worth tuning in on Sunday evening to see out your weekend right.

Mourinho will likely set up his side to frustrate their hosts, as he has in so many big away games in the past. Juventus might struggle to breach the Roma defence too, particularly with several important forwards set to miss the game with injury.

However, the absence of Abraham will also stunt the away side going forward, making this a tough one to call. A draw is probably the most likely outcome.

Prediction: Juventus 1-1 Roma
