Juventus travel to San Siro to face reigning champions Inter in the first derby d'Italia of the season on Sunday evening.

Massimiliano Allegri was winless in the first three games of his second spell at the helm to unconvincingly open the season. However, the Bianconeri face Serie A's top scorers on the back of their first consecutive clean sheets in Italy's top flight since February and six straight wins across all competitions.

Here's the starting XI Allegri may call upon to extend their parsimonious streak.

Juventus predicted lineup vs Inter - Serie A

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Wojciech Szczesny (GK) - From an error-strewn liability to penalty-saving hero, Szczesny's rollercoaster start to the season is poised for its latest loop.

Danilo (RB) - Rested for Juve's midweek victory over Zenit Saint Petersburg, the Brazilian full-back is set for a return to the rearguard.

Leonardo Bonucci (CB) - As Allegri's most frequently called upon player throughout his managerial career, Bonucci is just three games shy of 200 appearances for Juve's mister.

Giorgio Chiellini (CB) - Harry Kane, Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are just a trio of strikers to have ranked Chiellini’s defensive qualities above any of his peers.

Alex Sandro (LB) - Tentatively eased back into action after an exhaustive international break with Brazil, Allegri may not be able to resist the urge to start Sandro against the Scudetto holders.

2. Midfielders

Juan Cuadrado (RM) - Juve's Colombia international may have scored more Serie A goals against Inter than any other side (5) but could well be of more use dropping in as an auxiliary defender to cope with Inter's rampaging wing-backs.

Manuel Locatelli (CM) - For a boyhood Juventino, few days will be able to top the 24 hours in which Locatelli scored in the Turin derby and then got engaged earlier this month, but a goal in arguably the biggest fixture of Juve's season will go at least halfway to replicating that high.

Rodrigo Bentancur (CM) - Not trusted by Allegri to anchor Juve's midfield on his own, the early signs are promising for Bentancur's central partnership with Locatelli.

Federico Bernardeschi (LM) - Ushered in from the fringes of the squad, Bernardeschi could make a fourth consecutive Serie A start for the first time since July 2020 (two managers ago).

3. Forwards

Federico Chiesa (ST) - Juve's versatile dynamo has already been deployed in five different roles across his seven Serie A appearances this term yet is a near nailed-on starter, wherever that may be on the pitch.

Alvaro Morata (ST) - Even though Paulo Dybala may well be available for a place in Juve's squad come Sunday, Morata has completed his race to fitness faster than his Argentine teammate, which may give him the selection edge.
