Juventus 0-2 Barcelona: Player Ratings as La Blaugrana Earn Deserved Win Over Ten-Man Bianconeri

Juventus succumbed to a 2-0 Champions League defeat at the hands of Barcelona on Wednesday, on a night were Alvaro Morata had three goals disallowed.

Ousmane Dembele's deflected strike put the visitors in front, and they remained largely untroubled - Morata's offside goals aside - until stoppage time when Lionel Messi's penalty wrapped up the three points.

Juventus Player Ratings

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Wojciech Szczęsny (GK) - 6/10 - Could do nothing about the goal which was deflected out of his path.

Juan Cuadrado (RB) - 5/10 - Loves tumbling to the floor, but also loves cutting inside towards the penalty box when Dybala is out wide waiting for him.

Leonardo Bonucci (CB) - 5/10 - A miracle he was even playing in the first place, it was a tough night for Bonucci who had pace all around him to deal with.

Merih Demiral (CB) - 3/10 - Made an early mistake but made up for it with some good tackles and reading of danger as the game wore on. Kept Messi mostly at bay...until he got himself sent off.

Danilo (LB) - 5/10 - Sorely lacking in sense on the ball, Danilo's decision making was poor throughout. Got skinned repeatedly by Dembele.

2. Midfielders

Rodrigo Bentancur (CM) - 6/10 - Never managed to pick out the runs of Chiesa in front of him, and was given the run around constantly by a 17-year-old. Even Pjanic looked decent in comparison.

Paulo Dybala (AM) - 5/10 - Offered so little in an attacking sense but Juventus largely did anyway, bar balls in from wide into Morata.

Adrien Rabiot (CM) - 5/10 - Why he wasn't hauled off in favour of Aaron Ramsey soon after half-time is a mystery. Was a passenger for large spells.

3. Forwards

Dejan Kulusevski (RW) - 5/10 - Not a great night for the Swede, who'd otherwise enjoyed a fine start to the season for I Bianconeri. Never offered enough in possession.

Alvaro Morata (ST) - 7/10 - Scored a hat-trick! Of disallowed goals! They were all right calls, but Morata did will to get himself into dangerous positions throughout.

Federico Chiesa (LW) - 4/10 - Quite possibly Juve's worst player, but the runs he made in wide areas weren't picked out well enough.

5. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Neto (GK) - 7/10 - Conceded three times, but didn't let in a single goal. Calm night for Neto.

Sergi Roberto (RB) - 5/10 - One of few weak links in an otherwise solid defensive display from the visitors.

Ronald Araújo (CB) - 6/10 - Lost Morata for the 'goals' but they weren't punished and he kept the other forwards quiet.

Clement Lenglet (CB) - 7/10 - Adventurous in possession and solid in the air, Lenglet had a fine evening.

Jordi Alba (LB) - 7/10 - Had a fun battle with Cuadrado all evening, and supported young Pedri well across the whole evening.

6. Midfielders

Ousmane Dembélé (RM) - 7/10 - His goal may have taken a deflection but Dembele looked close to his pre-injury form with some darting runs and neat footwork.

Miralem Pjanić (CM) - 8/10 - Juve fans won't like this, but Pjanic was excellent in the heart of midfield, dictating play - albeit it usually with simple passes.

Frenkie de Jong (CM) - 7/10 - Came so deep that he almost played as a central defender at times. Was composed in possession and kept Rabiot and co. chasing shadows.

Pedri (LM) - 8/10 - One of those 'remember the name' players who is flourishing under Ronald Koeman. Will have given Bentancur and Cuadrado nightmares. Wonderfully gifted 17-year-old.

7. Forwards

Lionel Messi (ST) - 7/10 - Playing in the false nine role, he picked up the pockets in between the lines frequently. Not his best night as Demiral did well against him, but kept the Juve backline second guessing. Got his penalty. Yay.

Antoine Griezmann (ST) - 5/10 - Will he ever score? Had moments int he first half with some neat flicks, but the back of the net looks further and further away each passing game.
