Jurgen Klopp responds to rumours of Jordan Henderson return to Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp had "nothing to say" about reports linking Liverpool with a move to re-sign midfielder Jordan Henderson.
Henderson is said to be keen to leave Saudi Arabian side Al Ettifaq just six months after joining from Liverpool, with the former Reds captain "desperate" to seal a return to the Premier League in the near future.
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino recently refused to humour suggestions the Blues could move for Henderson and now Klopp has also poured cold water on the speculation.
Asked whether Liverpool could re-sign Henderson, a dismissive Klopp responded: "Did Hendo have a press conference and say that or what? Ah, it’s just written. That means for me it’s not existing.
"He didn’t call me. We spoke actually, but not about that. So really nothing to say about that."
Henderson lost his status as a key starter towards the end of his time with Liverpool and ultimately moved on this summer, reuniting with Steven Gerrard at Al Ettifaq.
The midfielder faced significant criticism for moving to Saudi Arabia, a country where homosexuality is a crime, after spending many years publicly supporting LGBTQ+ causes during his time in the Premier League.
England fans have booed Henderson during his appearances for the Three Lions, with the 33-year-old initially claiming he could not understand the public response to his move before ultimately acknowledging the controversy.
Henderson's future with the England national team is thought to have played a part in his desire to return to the Premier League, where he may have a greater chance of convincing manager Gareth Southgate to stick by him.
