Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp has refused to address questions about his decision to rotate his squad for their midweek goalless draw at Chelsea.

Klopp made six changes off the back of Liverpool's 4-1 loss to Manchester City last weekend, benching Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Andy Robertson at Stamford Bridge.

When asked whether the changes were due to the defeat or player workload, Klopp stated it was both and angrily refused to provide a detailed explanation.

"We had a game against City, which is an influence physically and performance-wise. It is both," he said ahead of Sunday's match against Arsenal.

"How can you expect I give you an answer and say 'two were because of that and four were because of that'. That is a real waste of time."

Liverpool's inconsistent season has seen them slip to eighth place in the Premier League table, ten points adrift of a Champions League spot.

The draw at Chelsea was their fourth consecutive game in all competitions without a win but despite their poor run of form away from home, Liverpool have been formidable at Anfield this season, only losing to Leeds on Merseyside.

Klopp's men lost 3-2 away to Arsenal in their first meeting this season in October. However, they have won their last six home league clashes with the London club, scoring at least three goals on each occasion.

Virgil van Dijk, Luis Diaz, and Thiago all returned to training this week, but the Colombian winger is not expected to take part against the Gunners.
