Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised Chelsea for the performance they put in against his side in the Reds' penalty shootout win over the Blues in the FA Cup final.
After a gruelling 120 minutes, the two sides went to spot kicks for the second time this season, and Liverpool once again emerged victorious from the shootout.
Speaking in a euphoric state post-game to BBC Sport, Klopp praised how well Chelsea played and insisted they too deserve the moniker of 'mentality monsters'.
"[Liverpool] are mentality monsters, but we saw mentality monsters in blue as well. [The difference] was one penalty, that's it.
"Chelsea were great, outstanding, but in the end there has to be one winner and today it was us. We will enjoy it."
Klopp added: "[Our] performance, it was again the same, an incredible intense game against Chelsea. They would have deserved [the win] exactly the same was as in the Carabao Cup, that's how small the margins are, the difference.
"I couldn't be more proud of my boys for what they did, how hard they fought and how hard it was."
Klopp has now won the FA Cup for the first time in his career, ending Liverpool's 16-year drought in the competition and keeping their hopes of a historic quadruple alive.
