Julian Nagelsmann's agent, Volker Struth, has provided insight into the manager's reaction to Bayern Munich sacking.

The decision to part ways with Nagelsmann in March, following a Bundesliga defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, has been met with criticism, particularly due to the handling of the dismissal.

Nagelsmann's agent, during an interview on German podcast 'The Phrasenmaher', has now revealed that journalists were briefed on the manager's sacking before he was informed.

Recalling the sequence of events, Struth shared: "I was in a restaurant in Cologne with Carsten Maschmeyer [German businessman], and that evening I also met the actor Jan-Josef Liefers. We were drinking a bottle of wine when I received a call from a journalist who said to me: 'That went very quickly with Julian!'"

Confused by the journalist's statement, Struth asked for clarification, to which the journalist replied, "'How, you don't know that yet? Julian is out, and Tuchel is the new coach!'"

Nagelsmann, unaware of the situation, reacted with disbelief and inquired: "Are you kidding me?' Struth further expressed his surprise, mentioning that after the Leverkusen game, he would have bet a fortune that nothing would happen, presuming that the club would have waited to evaluate their performance in upcoming matches.

Following Nagelsmann's departure, Thomas Tuchel assumed the role of Bayern's coach. Under the former Chelsea manager, the club suffered elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Manchester City, with tensions rising between forwards Sadio Mane and Leroy Sane after a disappointing first-leg defeat.

Domestically, Bayern Munich also faced setbacks, being knocked out of the DFB-Pokal by Freiburg and experiencing challenges in pulling away from Borussia Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga table.

While Nagelsmann had been linked with managerial positions at Chelsea and Tottenham, it appears that he will not be taking charge of either club. 90min understands that Chelsea are on the verge of confirming Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager.
