RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann has insisted he has had no contact with Bayern Munich despite speculation linking him with a move to the Bavarian giants.

Current boss Hansi Flick revealed days ago that he wants to leave Die Roten at the end of the season, meaning the current Bundesliga leaders will need a new manager in the near future if he does depart.

Nagelsmann is regarded as one of Germany's brightest managerial prospects and has long been touted as a potential manager for the Allianz Arena outfit, but he has now distanced himself from the job for now.

When quizzed about the rumours linking him with the hot seat at Bayern, the former Hoffenheim boss said as quoted by Goal: "There are and were no discussions and no offer. That's why I don't know what Bayern's wish is. I have said I don’t want to start a war with my employers - that's still the case."

Reports in Germany have suggested that Nagelsmann isn't the only manager the club's hierarchy have their sights set on - former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri is also said to be on their radar.

Nagelsmann has also been linked with the Tottenham job, which is now vacant following the sacking of Jose Mourinho. Whether taking over the seventh placed Premier League side would be a more attractive proposition than the reigning Champions League holders is definitely debatable.

Bayern have publicly expressed their disappointment at Flick's recent announcement regarding his plans for the future and the timing of it. But having let the cat out of the bag, speculation regarding his successor was always going to be rife and with Nagelsmann seen by many as the ideal replacement, you can expect this story to crop up multiple times in the coming weeks and months.
