Jude Bellingham reveals fury at 'joke' refereeing decisions in Dortmund's loss at Chelsea

Jude Bellingham has admitted he had to bite his tongue when discussing the refereeing decisions during Borussia Dortmund's Champions League loss at Chelsea.

BVB led 1-0 in the last 16 tie following the first leg at Signal-Iduna Park last month, but the Blues came roaring back with one of their best performances in the Graham Potter era.

Chelsea dominated the first half and managed to find the breakthrough just before the break, with Raheem Sterling opening the scoring on the night.

After the break, the hosts were awarded a penalty following a lengthy VAR check for a handball against Marius Wolf.

Kai Havertz stepped up to take the spot kick, but he could only strike the post, with Salih Ozcan clearing the rebound. However, the Turkish midfielder was found to have encroached by VAR and the penalty was retaken, with Havertz converting this time around.

Bellingham, who has previously been punished for candid remarks about refereeing performances, was furious with the decisions that went against Dortmund on Tuesday night.

Regarding Wolf's handball, he told BT Sport: "I’m not sure what more he can do with his hand.

"That in itself was disappointing and the fact that they’ve had a retake, I think it’s a joke.

"For every penalty, especially when you have such a slow run-up, there’s going to be people encroaching into the box by a yard or so. He’s made the decision and we have to live with it.

"I don’t want to get in trouble. I’ve paid enough to them lot."
