Joshua Kimmich Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery After Klassiker Injury

Bayern Munich's Joshua Kimmich is set for two months out after undergoing successful surgery on a knee injury.
The German managed just 36 minutes of the recent 3-2 win over Borussia Dortmund before being forced off with the injury, and there were initial fears that Kimmich may be sidelined for a while with the midfielder requiring surgery.

Fortunately, Bayern took to their official website to confirm that everything has gone as smoothly as possible, and medical officials at the club believe Kimmich will be available for selection in the new year.
"We're glad that Joshua will probably be available again in a matter of weeks," said director Hasan Salihamidzic. "We'll support him in his rehabilitation as best we can."
Kimmich had been playing out of his skin before the injury. Now a permanent fixture at the base of Bayern's midfield, the 25-year-old managed three goals and seven assists in his 11 appearances before the injury brought his season to a halt.
