Tottenham Hotspur head coach José Mourinho has confessed that he is missing football, but he urged fans to be patient as they call for the action to return.

When he hasn't been sneaking out to lead clandestine training sessions, Mourinho has spent plenty of his time away from football volunteering in the local community, delivering food and fresh vegetables to those in need in the local area.

He may have been keeping busy, but Mourinho admitted to Sky Sports News that he misses how life used to be, but the idea of football returning is the 'light at the end of the tunnel' for him.

"I miss football," he said. "But I prefer to say I miss our world, like I think we all do. Football is just part of my world. But we have to be patient, this is a fight that we all have to fight."

The Premier League will hold further talks this week to try and come up with a strategy for a return to action. June has been suggested as a possible target, but football will only be allowed to return once government officials are satisfied that it would be safe to do so.

In recent days, the Eredivisie and Ligue 1 seasons have both been ended, but Mourinho added he is keen to see the Premier League make a comeback.

"If we play the remaining nine matches this season it will be good for every one of us," the boss said.
"It will be good for football, for the Premier League.

"If we play football behind closed doors I'd like to think that football is never behind closed doors. With cameras, it means that millions and millions are watching. So if one day we walk into this empty stadium, it will not be empty, not at all."

Finally, Mourinho also offered updates on Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko and Steven Bergwijn, all of whom have recovered from long-term injuries which were expected to keep them sidelined for the majority of the rest of Spurs' campaign.

"For them, it's many, many weeks of injury, and when the injury was arriving at an end, we stopped training," he added.

"I don't know [when they will be ready to return], they don't know, we have to wait for the right permission for them to train again in groups to see if they can come back to a normal competition level."
