Leicester City have spoken with Jesse Marsch over their vacant managerial role, 90min understands.

The Foxes parted ways with Brendan Rodgers earlier this month and are now on the hunt for a new boss to come in and steer them away from the relegation zone. Former Chelsea boss Graham Potter has already rejected the chance to speak with Leicester about the job.

Sources have confirmed to 90min that talks have since been held with Marsch, who left Leeds in early February but could soon be back in the Premier League at the King Power Stadium.

As part of the negotiations, the two parties are discussing the long-term future and whether Marsch would remain at the club beyond the end of the campaign even if Leicester are relegated to the Championship.

Leicester headed into the current Premier League weekend 19th in the table, with only Southampton below the Foxes, and slipped further into trouble with a bitterly disappointing 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth.

The relegation battle is incredibly tight heading into the final stretch of the campaign. Leicester are just six points behind 12th-placed Wolves, giving them plenty of opportunities to climb out of the drop zone.

Marsch's former employers Leeds also find themselves locked in the battle to avoid the drop. The Yorkshire outfit are 16th, two points clear of the drop zone having played one game fewer than most of the sides around them.
