The LA Galaxy have gotten off to a poor start and team captain Chicharito is vocal about it.

In soccer, results matter. And when you’re sitting in 13th place through 10 matches with one victory, three ties and six losses – someone’s bound to start thinking out loud. For the LA Galaxy, unfortunately, that someone is captain Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez.

"We need to do different things obviously to get out of [this]. I don't know what. We need to figure it out, but we cannot keep doing the same things and waiting for the same results," Hernandez said, adding that the situation is frustrating.

Troubling news for a historically dominant MLS club that boasts five Cup championships and serious brand visibility.

Preston Judd’s 89th minute goal did little to ameliorate Saturday night’s crowd at Dignity Health Sports Park in the 3–1 loss to the Rapids. The 19,000+ crowd chanted their overall displeasure throughout the match – a sentiment both Chicharito and head coach Greg Vanney understand.

"We're LA Galaxy, man. When I say we need to behave and understand that – they're giving you the chance to be the greatest," Hernandez said. "You're in the greatest organization in the U.S. If teams are better than us, I can take that, I can take those losses. I can take that. When El Tráfico happened we were way better. We beat ourselves. We were the better team and we lost. I take those ones. These ones, at home? Against a [conference] rival? Man, no. Not good enough, the fans were right this time. They're right."

But as bad as things may seem, the Galaxy have a long campaign ahead (24 games to be exact) and on paper, a team that can pull up and correct itself to succeed. Even in the bottom of the barrel in the Western Conference, they are within six points of an Audi MLS Cup Playoff spot.

To do so, Chicharito knows it will take a team effort – even setting his past laurels aside to recognize what he means by that.

“The LA Galaxy being almost last in the conference? Nah. That's not something that Galaxy deserves. We could be three or four spots higher having a bad season. At least. We're not doing enough. That's for sure. All of us. That's for sure. That's why we are where we are,” he said.
