Bayern Munich wonderkid Jamal Musiala is set to reject the chance to play for England and commit his international future to Germany next month.

The 17-year-old is German born but as he was educated in England he is eligible for the Three Lions. He also qualifies for Nigeria through his father.

Musiala is enjoying a breakout year, making over 20 appearances for Die Roten so far. This comes after he became Bayern's youngest ever player back in June, while he is also the club's youngest goalscorer, opening his account during his side's 8-0 win over Schalke on the opening day of the season.

His fine form has led to a tug of war over his international allegiance. with the Daily Mail reporting that the youngster has finally chosen to play for Germany. Musiala is expected to accept a call up from Die Mannschaft for their three World Cup qualifying games scheduled for the end of March.

This is despite the wideman opting to represent England at youth level. Most recently, he caught the eye on his England Under-21 debut, with Gareth Southgate eager to reward him with a senior bow this time around.

However, Musiala has also played for Germany's Under-16 side and he could make his senior debut when Joachim Low's side take on Iceland on 25 March.

It is not just at international level that teams are vying for Musiala's services. Liverpool, Manchester United and a host of other top clubs are all interested in the player, whose current deal is set to expire at the end of next season.

According to reports though, Bayern will end speculation over his future soon by announcing that he has signed a new £100,000-per-week contract that will kick in when he turns 18.
