Indian Super League (ISL) side, ATK Mohun Bagan on Friday confirmed that they had secured the services of Vishal Kaith from Chennaiyin FC, with the goalkeeper signing a three-year deal with the Mariners.
Kaith has been a consistent performer in between the sticks and despite being only 25-years-old, he has already made 70 appearances in the ISL so far for Pune City and Chennaiyin FC over the years and adds to an already strong goalkeeping department at ATK Mohun Bagan that features Amrinder Singh and youngster, Arsh Shaikh.
The youngster did not have the best of times on the pitch last ISL season, as he struggled for gametime, playing second fiddle to Debjit Majumdar a number of times. It did not also help that Chennaiyin struggled last campaign, managing to win only five games and eventually finished eighth in the league table.
The Himachal Pradesh-born goalkeeper has also made four appearances for the India men's national team, with many likening him to a sweeper-keeper - frequently rushing out of his area to clear the ball or face opponents who have beaten the offside trap.
ATK Mohun Bagan are expected to send their goalkeeping team to Spain for special training where they will train under Xavier Pindado and Juan Ferrando.
