Defender Mohamad Rakip, Spanish Forward Igor Angulo, Brazilian Diego Maurício and Cássio Gabriel, Australian attacking midfielder Bradden Inman and Indian forward Vikram Singh are the six names who have left the club.
“Mumbai City FC bid farewell to Mohamad Rakip, Igor Angulo, Diego Maurício, Cássio Gabriel, Bradden Inman and Vikram Singh who leave the Islanders today after the end of their contracts. Everyone in the Mumbai City family would like to thank them for their services to the Club and wish them the absolute best for the future," the club posted a statement on their website.
The Islanders who went into the 2021/22 season as the defending champions, did not have the best of campaigns as they only managed to finish fifth in the ISL table with 31 points from 20 games.
However, they bounced back from the disappointment and enjoyed a good AFC Champions League campaign as they created history by becoming the first Indian club to win an AFC Champions League (ACL) match, Asia's premier club footballing competition.
They ended their AFC Champions League campaign with seven points from six games, finishing second in Group B.
