Winless in their last five games in all competitions, Inter will be looking to respond to recent disappointments when they host Salernitana in Serie A.

The Nerrazurri played out a goalless draw in the Coppa Italia semi-final first leg with rivals Milan in midweek, making it four straight games without a goal for Simone Inzaghi's men.

Salernitana, meanwhile, languish at the foot of the table and have won just once since October, although they will hope the appointment of survival specialist Davide Nicola can arrest their slide towards relegation.

Inzaghi was also delighted to welcome back Joaquin Correa for the remaining minutes of the Coppa Italia semi-final first leg, with the Argentine having last featured in mid-January after sustaining a serious hamstring injury.

Similarly, Andrea Schiavone is approaching a return from a hamstring injury, although Matteo Ruggeri (muscle) and Ivan Radovanovic (ankle) will miss out.

Inter vs Salernitana head-to-head record

Inter were at their blistering best when they met Salernitana in the reverse fixture in Serie A back in December.

The Nerazzurri led 2-0 at the interval through goals from Ivan Perisic and Denzel Dumfries, before a second half siege sealed a 5-0 victory via strikes from Alexis Sanchez, Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko.

Having surrendered top spot in Serie A after a formidable first half of the campaign, dropping points to the team rooted to the foot of the table is unthinkable for Inter.

Inzaghi's side have lost their mojo infront of goal recently and it will be interesting to see whether the former Lazio boss tweaks his system to improve his side's results.

Nonetheless, the Nerazzurri should have too much for Salernitana infront of their home crowd.

Prediction: Inter 2-0 Salernitana
