The agent of Inter forward Lautaro Martinez has met with both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid over a possible summer transfer.

The Argentine was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona last summer but has always remained happy at Inter, firing home 18 goals and ten assists en route to lifting the Serie A title this year.

Martinez is in no rush to leave San Siro, but according to AS, his representatives are working hard behind the scenes to scope out the landscape of the transfer market and find out what routes are open to the 23-year-old.

Agent Alejandro Camano recently held meetings with both Real and Atletico, who have both added Martinez to their list of potential reinforcements this summer.

For Real, their dream striker target remains Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland, but with the Norwegian expected to cost close to £150m, cheaper alternatives are being sought out and Martinez has been discussed at length.

Real's interest appears more concrete than that of Atletico, who seem to be considering Martinez as a potential replacement for Luis Suarez if the Uruguayan chooses to trigger his option to leave the newly crowned La Liga champions this summer.

It's a bit of a strange situation as Camano recently insisted that he was not speaking with any teams over a move for Martinez, who he stressed is in no rush to leave Inter whatsoever.

Remaining with the Serie A champions is understood to be Martinez's priority, but whether that's an option remains to be seen. Inter are battling major financial troubles behind the scenes and could be forced to make at least one big sale, with Martinez and strike partner Romelu Lukaku both tipped to leave.

Should Inter be forced to sell Martinez, there will be plenty of interest from the Premier League. 90min understands Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool have all reached out to Camano to be kept informed of any developments.

Sources believe that, if Inter cannot find emergency funding from elsewhere, Martinez may be available for under £70m.
