Inter Miami have confirmed the signing of former Arsenal man Kieran Gibbs, with the defender set to link up with David Beckham's MLS franchise when his West Brom contract expires in the summer.
Gibbs started his career with the Gunners, making more than 200 appearances in north London and winning three FA Cups. He departed for West Brom in 2017 where he has enjoyed less success, experiencing Premier League relegation in his first season at the club but remaining a key part of the side that lost in the Championship playoff semi-finals the following term.
Since then he has fallen down the pecking order at the Hawthorns and it is now been confirmed that he will be moving on when his deal runs out on 1 July.
Inter Miami announced his signing on the club's website, with sporting director Chris Henderson saying: "Kieran is an exciting player. His technique, experience and work rate will be valuable on the left flank. He has had a standout career at the highest levels so far, and we believe he can continue bringing this same level of quality to Inter Miami and MLS this summer."
Gibbs himself echoed these sentiments, saying: "I’m extremely excited to be starting the next chapter of my career with Inter Miami this summer. I look forward to embracing a new culture and a new challenge in south Florida.
"I’m really impressed by the vision of the Club, and can’t wait to play in front of The Siege, Southern Legion, and Vice City 1896. In the meantime, my focus and commitment remains with West Brom. I will continue to give 100% for the club, as I have done since I signed, until the end of the season."
Gibbs joins a Herons team that already features several high-profile names. Stoke City legend Ryan Shawcross signed in February, while World Cup winner Blaise Matuidi and Gonzalo Higuain are also part of Phil Neville's squad for the upcoming MLS season.
