Inter Eye Up Swoop for Manchester City's Sergio Aguero on a Free Transfer

Inter are plotting to land Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero on a free transfer, with the Argentinian's contract at the Etihad Stadium expiring at the end of the season.
The 32-year-old joined City from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and has gone on to become the Premier League's highest scoring overseas player as the blue half of Manchester established themselves as one of English football's top sides.
However, his current deal expires on 30 June 2021, and he unsurprisingly will have no shortage of suitors should he reject a contract extension.
According to Spanish news outlet AS, Inter are at the front of the queue. The lack of transfer fee would enable the Italian side to pool their finances into Aguero's salary packet, and they are prepared to offer the forward a two-year deal with the option of a third, plus €8m in wages.
Inter consider Aguero as a potential replacement for Lautaro Martínez. The 23-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona throughout the transfer window, but the Catalan side's lack of funds ultimately prevented them from making a bid for the forward.
According to Italian news outlet Calciomercato, City are considering Borussia Dortmund's 20-year-old sensation Erling Haaland as Aguero's successor.
Aguero has scored 180 goals in 263 top flight appearances for Manchester City since joining the club nine years ago. Only Alan Shearer, Andy Cole and Wayne Rooney have found the net more in the Premier League.
