Inter became the first team to make the 2019/20 Europa League semi-finals after a 2-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen in Düsseldorf on Monday night.

Nicolo Barella and Romelu Lukaku's goals in an action-packed first half turned out to be enough to see Antonio Conte's side through, despite the Germans pulling one back through the much-coveted Kai Havertz to make it a tense, neutral-pleasing affair.

Let's get into some player ratings!

INTER

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Samir Handanovic (GK) - 5/10 - Probably ought to have done better for the Leverkusen goal, which led to a much nervier game than it perhaps could've been.

Diego Godin (CB) - 7/10 - Close to his gritty best in the second half, the veteran Uruguayan battle axe put a shift in, with no player on the pitch making more tackles (5) or clearances (5).

Stefan de Vrij (CB) - 5/10 - Like Handanovic, de Vrij might've done better for the Leverkusen goal and was a little below par all night.

Alessandro Bastoni (CB) - 7/10 - With three interceptions and two blocked shots, the 21-year-old Italian looked good at the back, before being subbed for the more experienced Milan Skriniar in the second half.

Ashley Young (LWB) - 7/10 - The former Manchester United star was impressive on the attack, registering an assist when his neat pass found fellow ex-Red Devil Romelu Lukaku, who converted.

Danilo D'Ambrosio (RWB) - 5/10 - Struggled a tad with Leverkusen's attacking threat and was hooked on 60 minutes after a booking.

2. Midfielders

Marcelo Brozovic (CM) - 7/10 - Arguably one of the world's top defensive midfielders right now, Brozovic did well to help (largely) contain the threats posed by Kerem Demirbay, Havertz and the rest.

Roberto Gagliardini (CM) - 6/10 - The Italian was solid in his passing, and dutifully chased Havertz around the park, prior to being subbed for Christian Eriksen. He would've scored but for Lukaku's accidental block.

Nicolo Barella (CM) - 8/10 - The opening scorer, Barella's beauty of an outside of the foot finish was the high point of a commanding display from the engine room.

3. Forwards

Romelu Lukaku (ST) - 8/10 - Man of the match, Lukaku was pivotal in both goals - even if he should have scored more than just one. The Belgian has now set a new record for scoring in his last nine Europa League ties. At his best, he looks, frankly, too good for the competition.

Lautaro Martinez (ST) - 6/10 - The Argentine's movement helped create space for Lukaku's goal. Other than that it was a quiet night for Martinez, who was hooked off on 63 minutes.

4. Substitutes
