Barcelona's 2020/21 campaign is yet to get underway and already kit designs for the following campaign have been revealed.
It's been a hectic summer in Catalonia following their humiliating 8-2 defeat in the Champions League quarter-finals at the hands of Bayern Munich last month, but things have started to settle with new manager Ronald Koeman assured of Lionel Messi's commitment to the club for his debut campaign at the helm.
Barça will don an impressive triumvirate of strips for the 2020/21 season, including their 1920s Golden Generation-inspired home kit - which also has a distinct resemblance to their yellow-collared 2010/11 jersey worn by arguably the greatest club side of all-time.
Mundo Deportivo, however, have already been granted access to designs of Barça's 2021/22 home strip, with clear inspirations drawn from the club's crest.
The lower part of the jersey has vertical blue and scarlet stripes displayed in the bottom half of the badge, where a ball also appears. The equivalent of the Cross of Sant Jordi will be located in the top-right surrounding the logo of kit manufacturer Nike, while in the top-left - behind the Barça badge - there will be a composition which simulates the 'senyera', the official flag of Catalonia.
The respective white and yellow parts of both the cross and flag will instead be blue to match typical Barcelona colours.
The sleeves are expected to be scarlet, although this is yet to be finalised along with designs for shorts and socks.
The advertising of the club's main sponsor, Rakuten, will typically be placed in the centre of the shirt, although their current partnership is set to expire in 2021.
Overall, it's a rather outlandish design and one which doesn't appear to have gone down well with the Barcelona fans - Mundo's poll generating a 77% disapproval rating.
