The Indian women's football team came up with an impressive 1-0 win over Jordan at the Prince Mohammed Stadium in Zarqa, Jordan on Friday.
The Blue Tigresses have now won back-to-back international games after beating Egypt in a friendly earlier in the week.
Manisha Kalyan's thunderbolt strike put India ahead in the 48th minute after which they saw out the match courtesy of professional performances from experienced personalities like Ashalata Devi and Sweety Devi in their team.
After a nervy start to the game, the Indian women's team settled into their rhythm and started creating chances.
They did conceded a couple of chances on the counter attack but goalkeeper Aditi Chauhan came up with smart saves in crucial moments in the game.
The game flew by as it reached half-time with plenty of chances created by the Indian contingent, however, they lacked the final ball needed to score a goal.
Coach Thomas Dennerby made a change in India's attack, taking off Sandhiya Ranganathan to bring on Pyari Xaxa to bring pace up ahead in order to strike early in the second half, and that's exactly what happened.
Manisha Kalyan held possession in the 48th minute and after getting past an opponent, unleashed a left-footed thunderbolt which ended up in the top right corner of Jordan's goal.
Jordan were shocked from this blow and looked desperate to get on the ball. It would seem obvious that India then set back to defend their league, but they didn't!
The Blue Tigresses created chances despite being a goal up, showcasing their intent to attack rather than defend a lead.
All of Jordan's attempts on goal were saved by Aditi, who was top notch on the evening.
India saw out the rest of the game and while the win was a testament to the players, coach Thomas Dennerby's decisions as coach ensured the Blue Tigresses were victorious in the game.
