Indian football at present is blessed with a number of young talents coming up through the ranks, something which gives fans a hope of a great future.

Here, we take a look at the best youngsters coming up through the ranks for the Blue Tigers.

1. Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem

A key player of the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup contingent for India, Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem came into prominence after impressing at the Youth World Cup and was also set to join Scottish Premiership side Motherwell FC on a three-year deal - but that failed to materialize due to work permit issues.

While it may take time for the 21-year-old FC Goa shot stopper to become a regular in the Indian side, he has what it takes to be a custodian for India for a long time to come.

2. Amarjit Singh Kiyam

Widely hailed as one of the best players of his generation, Amarjit Singh Kiyam impressed on the pitch which led to Igor Stimac giving him his India debut at the historic King’s Cup in Thailand in June 2019

The 21-year-old Indian footballer is known for his hard tackles and is good at making clever runs into the opposition box to score, something extremely similar to Italian legend, Daniele De Rossi.

3. Jeakson Singh

Jeakson Singh made history when he scored the Indian team’s only goal against Colombia in the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup. The youngster has made a seamless transition to the senior leagues, playing a key role in Kerala Blasters reaching the 2021/22 final.

It will be interesting to see how the 20-year-old defensive midfielder performs when called up to the senior Indian national team.
