Hull City have confirmed two people at the club have tested positive for coronavirus following their first round of testing at their training ground.

Championship clubs are set to return to training on Monday following EFL guidelines. All 24 English second-tier clubs have undergone first-round testing with 1,014 checks on players and staff across the league.

Hull City have confirmed they are the club that have the only two positive cases across the division so far.

A statement on the club's official website read: "Hull City can confirm that two people have tested positive for Covid-19 following the first round of testing at the training ground."

"Medical confidentiality means the names will not be disclosed, and the Club asks for this to be respected."

"The duo, who are both asymptomatic and feeling no ill effects, will now self-isolate for seven days – in line with the protocols set out in EFL guidelines – before being tested again at a later date."

"The Club will continue to liaise closely with the affected personnel and will make no further comment."

Championship clubs have been issued a 42-page protocol from the EFL detailing the precautionary steps to be taken in order to facilitate a successful return to return to training and competing on matchdays.

Every player or staff member who has tested negatively and can subsequently enter the training facilities will undergo private screening from club doctors to detect any symptoms of the virus.

Additionally, all players and staff will have to fill out a health questionnaire to be submitted prior to their entry to the training ground. If this document is not submitted they will not be granted access to the facilities in a bid to decrease the spread of Covid-19.

Hull find themselves in a Championship relegation battle - just two points separate them from the drop zone. Two positive tests out of 1,014 will come as encouraging news for clubs and fans wanting a return to action.
