Wrexham are celebrating promotion from the National League back to League Two with a lavish trip to Las Vegas funded completely by co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

The Red Dragons have ended their 15 year exile from English professional football after holding off the fierce competition of Notts County to finish the 2022/23 season as National League champions, taking a record 111 points from 46 games.

Hollywood actors Reynolds and McElhenney took over the club at the back end of 2020 and have helped provide the funding to help the club earn promotion, quickly falling in love with the sport and the community of Wrexham.

To celebrate one of the most memorable seasons in the history of the club, star striker Paul Mullin revealed to GQ that their A-list owners are funding the squad's celebratory trip to Las Vegas.

"It became a thing where if we won the league, we'd get a holiday. So we're off to Vegas. Ryan and Rob told us to leave our cards at home, they're sorting the lot," Mullin said.

"They sent us a full itinerary just now. Part of me doesn't want to go, I might be dead by the end of it. But I’d never go to Vegas by me own accord, so I’m buzzing for it."

The Wrexham squad arrived Stateside on Thursday and enjoyed dinner at the Hakkasan Chinese restaurant within the MGM Grand hotel. They then headed down to the connected nightclub where their promotion-winning antics were recognised with a presentation.

With the popularity in the USA growing, Wrexham will fly back across the pond for three pre-season games, taking on Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United either side of a match with LA Galaxy's reserve side.
