Injuries and misfortune have crippled Chelsea's 2022/23 season with the Blues currently languishing in mid-table at the halfway mark.

While their form on the pitch has been indifferent, the west London club are making all the headlines for their work off it. Roman Abramovich's successor, Todd Boehly, is splashing his cash at an unrelenting rate to ensure Graham Potter has the resources he needs both in the short and long term.

Boehly is yet to celebrate his one-year anniversary as Chelsea owner, but he's still spent an absolute fortune on shiny new toys. The Blues' financial might is blowing their competitors out of the water, and their ruthless approach to striking deals has seen them purchase a multitude of fresh talent under Boehly's ownership.

Here are all the moves Boehly's Chelsea have made thus far, with the list destined to extend by the end of the January transfer window.

How much have Chelsea spent under Todd Boehly?

Chelsea have spent a LOT of money since Boehly's takeover was confirmed at the end of May. The American is halfway through his second transfer window having already spent approximately a mammoth £389.4m.

The recent purchase of Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk may prove to be the most expensive piece of business should Chelsea end up paying all the add-ons included in the deal. The move for the 21-year-old winger could eventually cost £88m.

Wesley Fofana was signed from Leicester in the summer for a hefty £70m in a bid to bolster the defence, but the Frenchman has endured a frustrating debut season due to injuries.

Joao Felix, meanwhile, was another big-name arrival but he's only joined the club on a six-month loan. Still, Chelsea paid Atletico Madrid just shy of £10m to take Felix on for the remainder of the season.

Is Todd Boehly still Chelsea's sporting director?

Marina Granovskaia served as Abramovich's "transfer guru" at the end of the Russian's tenure as owner before she departed after Abramovich was forced to sell up.

After taking over the club, Boehly initially inserted himself as interim sporting director during Chelsea's transition.

However, the American stepped back from his temporary role in January after multiple moves were made to bolster the club's recruitment team. Recruitment specialist Kyle Macaulay was the first notable appointment made back in September, while Joe Shields and Laurence Stewart have taken up the respective roles of co-director of recruitment and talent, and technical director with a focus on global football.

Former Brighton official Paul Winstanley arrived as Chelsea’s director of global talent and transfers in November before Christopher Vivell became the club's technical director at the end of 2022.
