This season’s UEFA Europa League signed off with a classic as Sevilla beat Inter 3-2 in the final in Cologne, and Kia gave fans the chance to enjoy the occasion in style.

With the fixtures from the last 16 onwards taking place behind closed doors, and the first ever European final played without fans, Kia Motors created a special pre-match campaign for the 2019/20 UEFA Europa League Final in a digitalised format - the Kia #ChargeUpFor giveaway.

Kia wanted to encourage fans of qualified teams for the round of 16 to show support through social media, and ‘charge up’ their team with passion, to drive them on to success in the knockout stages.

European football legend Patrice Evra teamed up with Kia to encourage fans to submit a photo or video with a caption on Instagram. Fans simply had to express their passion for their team and show how they charge up before a big game, while using #ChargeUpFor as well as the hashtag of the team they cheer for.

Lucky fans of teams who reached the semi-finals were selected from the entries, and received a UEFA Europa League supporter pack consisting of items such as two tickets to a 2020/21 UEFA Europa League group stage match, a €550 UEFA online store voucher, replica ball, cap and key ring.

Kia also gave Inter’s grand prize winner the once-in-a-lifetime experience of joining a special match day live show with two European football legends. Giovanni, an Inter fan for his entire life, was given the chance to exclusively speak to Patrice Evra, formerly of Manchester United and Juventus, as well as Chelsea and Bayern Munich legend Michael Ballack.

The show was held live on the 90min YouTube channel prior to the final on August 21, and Giovanni took his opportunity to ask about the greatest players the had ever shared a football pitch with, while he was given the opportunity to team with Evra for a special Europa League quiz.

The viewing audience got involved too, submitting questions for the legendary pair in the live comments, and used the hashtag #ChargeUpFor along with their team name to show support for their teams before the final match.

A thrilled Giovanni said on the experience: "It was great to be able to share that unique moment with two football legends like Ballack and Evra, I want to thank Kia for this fantastic experience."
