Proposing at a stadium during a live match is always risky business. Who knows what could happen?

You could get rejected in front of a live audience, who could think of anything more humiliating? Or a stray ball could hit you, ruining your perfect moment. In the stadium, you're at the mercy of the players on the pitch and the fans in the stands.

One Houston Dynamo fan was particularly unlucky on Wednesday night, getting down on one knee to propose seconds before LA Galaxy forward Kevin Cabral scored the third in what turned out to be a 3-0 hammering for the Texas side.

In a sweet touch, the supporter had other fans in their section hold up signs for the proposal. And, most importantly, she still said yes, with the pair getting a warm reception from those around them.

But camera footage quickly panned across to Cabral firing the ball home. Just to add insult to injury, Cabral and his Galaxy teammates decided to come over and celebrate in front of the Houston fans in that very same corner, stealing the thunder from what should have been one of the best moments of this couple's lives.

Given the Dynamo's record this season, perhaps the groom-to-be should have known better and picked a different time (or place) to propose. Tab Ramos' men are 11th in the Western Conference with just six wins from 31 games, already mathematically eliminated from MLS Cup Playoff contention.

In fairness, all six of Houston's wins have come at PNC Stadium, where El Naranja have lost just four times all season. So perhaps that explains the apparent overconfidence in this particular propsal going off without a hitch?

Still, congratulations to the happy couple! Maybe in a few years, they'll look back fondly in this bizarre, sort of sweet moment.
