Borussia Dortmund executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has admitted that the club will discuss selling Jadon Sancho this summer if the Englishman specifically requests a move away.

Manchester United are in pursuit of Sancho, and 90min understands that they remain confident of getting a deal over the line, but the coronavirus crisis has left the two sides stuck in somewhat of a stand-off over the cost of the deal.

United are adamant that they will not pay over £100m for Sancho, whereas Dortmund believe selling for anything less than that figure would be impossible. Speaking to Sport1, Watzke stated that the German side don't believe anyone will meet their demands.

"If Jadon comes up to us and says I absolutely want to leave - which has not been the case so far - and a team wants to pay what we want, then we will discuss it," he said. "I don't think a club will come and pay the sum.

"There is also no corona discount on it. We left the phase where we had to sell players. I don't think there will be a summer transfer. Next year we have a situation that is more unusual than usual. With the exception of Achraf Hakimi, the team will stay together. That helps with development."

If United do find themselves needing to pay more than they would like, they may have to sell some of their squad players to raise the extra funds.

The Mirror state that five players could be sacrificed, with Alexis Sánchez, Jesse Lingard, Andreas Pereira, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling all nearing the exit door to make space for Sancho.

That's all up in the air right now, but one thing which seems pretty certain is that Sancho will not be heading to Liverpool.

Jürgen Klopp told Bild: "The red jersey would look very good on Jadon. But I don't think such a transfer will take place this summer. He is a very interesting player. If he moved to Liverpool, I would be the most surprised of all."
