Manchester United travel to Spain for the first leg of their Europa League quarter final tie against Granada on Thursday evening.

The Red Devils overcame AC Milan in the round of 16 in a serious test of their metal and now face Granada, who sit ninth in La Liga but edged past Napoli in the round of 32 to the surprise of many.

While no opposition is easy opposition in the last eight of a European tournament, anything less than a victory from the first leg would be disappointing for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, with the Europa League being their last shot at silverware this season.

Granada, meanwhile, have struggled for form since edging past Molde in the round of 16 but will relish the chance to become the giant killers against a tournament favourite.

Anthony Martial looks set for a spell on the sidelines and could miss the remainder of the season after picking up a knee injury during the international break. Marcus Rashford scored against Brighton, but came off with an injury and is also a doubt for the tie.

Eric Bailly continues to isolate following a positive COVID-19 test, while Juan Mata remains away from the squad on personal leave.

David de Gea was left out during United's 2-1 win over Brighton at the weekend despite being available once again. He could start in place of Dean Henderson on Thursday.

Prediction

For Granada, even getting as far as a European quarter final against Manchester United should be a positive for the club. They're here now, though, and will be expected to take it to United, certainly in the first leg at home.

Form now goes out of the window for the hosts and the chance to cause a major upset is huge. United will be wary of this and, like they have done so often this season, will probably approach the away leg with a hint of caution.

Quality will ultimately prevail, however, and the Red Devils will come out on top.

Prediction: Granada 0-2 Manchester United
