Chelsea head coach Graham Potter has provided positive news on the recoveries of defenders Reece James and Wesley Fofana.

James was ruled out of this winter's World Cup after picking up a knee problem in the Blues' Champions League win at Milan back in October, while Fofana has been sidelined with a similar issue for much of the season so far.

Chelsea are currently undergoing a mid-season training camp in Dubai ahead of the return of club football, and Potter has spoken on James and Fofana's respective progress.

"Reece is not quite fully training but he’s integrating into training along with Wesley," he said.

"Wesley is a little bit further behind but not too far."

Potter was also able to provide updates on Ben Chilwell (hamstring), Kepa Arrizabalaga and Ruben Loftus-Cheek (both knocks).

He added: "Kepa is not quite with the team yet but has stepped up his rehab.

"Ruben is doing some work in the gym so we’re hopeful that he can be involved next week but we’ll see how he goes.

"There are lots of players at different levels and that’s the challenge but we’re making progress so that’s the positive."

Due to their third round elimination from the Carabao Cup, Chelsea will resume their season after Christmas with a Premier League match at home to Bournemouth on December 27.
