Barcelona failed to capitalise on Real Madrid's earlier slip-up, falling to a 1-0 defeat against Getafe at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

The visitors edged what was a quiet first half, where Lionel Messi came closest to netting when his shot crashed off the post from Sergino Dest's cutback. Antoine Griezmann squandered a glorious chance to open the scoring too, blazing miles over after being put through by Pedri.

The Blaugrana struggled to create anything of note in the second half, and fell behind when Jaime Mata converted from the spot after Frenkie de Jong carelessly brought down Djene.

Ronald Koeman's side didn't come close to equalising until right at the death, when Djene headed a cross onto his own crossbar.

1. Goalkeeper and Defenders

Neto (GK) - 6/10 - Rarely tested, but competently dealt with every challenge thrown his way before being beaten by Mata's penalty. Produced a fine save to stop Cucho Hernandez making it 2-0.

Sergi Roberto (RB) - 6/10 - Solid, yet unspectacular - a sentence that accurately describes Sergi Roberto's entire career.

Gerard Pique (CB) - 6/10 - Did what was expected of him, winning most headers and challenges.

Clement Lenglet (CB) - 6/10 - The Frenchman won most of his battles. Perhaps unlucky not to keep a clean sheet.

Sergino Dest (LB) - 7/10 - Playing in an unnatural left-back role, the young American was often targeted by the home side, but held his own well.

2. Midfielders

Sergio Busquets (CM) - 6/10 - The calm head in midfield that we've all become accustomed to, but sometimes a little bit slow on the ball.

Frenkie de Jong (CM) - 5/10 - Composed on the ball and hard working, but conceded a penalty with a clumsy challenge on Djene early in the second half.

Pedri (CM) - 7/10 - Didn't look a foot out of place in a star-studded Barcelona lineup. A promising first start for the 17-year-old.

3. Forwards

Antoine Griezmann (RW) - 4/10 - It was another underwhelming display from the World Cup winner, who is surely on borrowed time at the Camp Nou. Fluffed his lines terribly when played clean through on goal by Pedri.

Lionel Messi (CF) - 6/10 - Battered and bruised throughout the game, La Pulga looked bright at times without ever getting near his best. Unlucky not to score with a first-half effort that struck the post.

Ousmane Dembele (LW) - 5/10 - Stepping in for La Liga Player of the Month Ansu Fati, Dembele looked very rusty, often showing flashes of promise before carelessly losing possession.
