Germany will be looking to turn a corner after some questionable recent form and make it two in two this international break with a Nations League win over a Switzerland side who are in miserable shape at the moment.

Die Mannschaft managed to win their first Nations League game at the seventh time of asking against Ukraine in the first half of this international hiatus, and could potentially make some serious inroads towards winning their group with a victory against the Swiss.

Recent Form

While Germany seemingly had no problem navigating the qualifying stage for this years' (now next years') Euros, dropping points just once in eight games, there is a serious issue involving them and Nations League football.

As mentioned, it was seventh time's the charm against Ukraine last week, with their form in the Nations League so absent that it took a rule change from UEFA to stop them from being relegated during its first installation.

Switzerland haven't been much better, and although they themselves ultimately didn't have too much trouble qualifying for Euro 2020, their form in a tournament year has left a lot to be desired, with three losses in their last four serving as a clear warning to manager Vladimir Petković.

Here's how the two sides have got on in their last five games...

Germany

Ukraine 2-1 Germany (10/10)
Germany 3-3 Turkey (7/10)
Switzerland 1-1 Germany (6/9)
Germany 1-1 Spain (3/9)
Germany 6-1 Northern Ireland (19/11)

Switzerland

Spain 1-0 Switzerland (10/10)
Switzerland 1-2 Croatia (7/10)
Switzerland 1-1 Germany (6/9)
Ukraine 2-1 Switzerland (3/9)
Gibraltar 1-6 Switzerland (18/11)

Prediction

While there is clearly something not quite right with Germany at the moment - something which has made Joachim Löw a deserved subject of scrutiny - this Switzerland team look there for the taking at present.

With several injuries to their first-choice players, and in the middle of a very pedestrian run of form, Switzerland look far from inspiring, and a Germany team with as solid a home record as any other should be way too much for them.

Prediction: Germany 3-1 Switzerland
