Germany predicted starting 11 vs England - Euro 2020

Having scraped through to the knockout rounds by the skin of their teeth following a late equaliser against Hungary on Wednesday, there's no time for Germany to rest as they face old foes England in the last 16.

Joachim Low's side have already looked both absolutely brilliant and absolutely hopeless at times so far this tournament and they're only three games in!

Who knows which version of Die Mannschaft we'll get on Tuesday at Wembley, but they'll need to be at their best to stop England's talented crop of forwards.

Here's how 90min thinks Low's side will line up against the Three Lions...

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Manuel Neuer (GK) - Yet to keep a clean sheet at Euro 2020 but that probably says more about the defence in front of him than his own performances.

Matthias Ginter (CB) - Only seen out the 90 minutes once this tournament but has started all three games and is likely to retain his place in the backline.

Mats Hummels (CB) - Was recalled to the international side for Euro 2020 after almost three years in the wilderness. Hasn't let his team down yet but England's frontline will know he's there to be got at.

Antonio Rudiger (CB) - Played every single minute at the competition so far and looks to have established himself as one of their most reliable defenders.

2. Midfielders & wing-backs

Joshua Kimmich (RWB) - There aren't many better players on the planet than this man when he's on song. His performance against Portugal was one of the best individual displays to date at Euro 2020 and he'll be key to his side's chances on Tuesday.

Toni Kroos (CM) - Even some of the best teams have a player who they almost can't do without and it's this man for Germany. Makes controlling games look effortless and his battle against the England midfield will be crucial to deciding who wins the contest.

Ilkay Gundogan (CM) - Might not be quite as classy as his midfield partner but he does plenty of the dirty work that allows Kroos to play with more freedom.

Robin Gosens (LWB) - Kimmich's performance against Portugal may have been brilliant but this man's was even better. If he can bomb down the left and bamboozle England's right-back like he did to Nelson Semedo then the Three Lions could be in trouble.

3. Forwards

Serge Gnabry (RW) - So far he hasn't produced anywhere near the level of performance we know he's capable of. As one of the best wide forwards in Europe he's likely to keep his place but if Germany are going to beat England they need more from this man.

Kai Havertz (ST) - Scored two in his last two outings and looks a real threat as he drifts across the frontline and picks up pockets of space where defenders don't know whether to mark him or pass him on to a teammate.

Thomas Muller (LW) - Was only afforded 25 minutes against Hungary after picking up a knee injury but Low will know he's the man for the big occasion and if he's fully fit he'll definitely start.
