The Germany Lineup That Should Start Against Spain

Germany will be keen to keep the momentum going following their 3-1 win over Ukraine when they face Spain in the Nations League on Tuesday.

The Germans looked more like themselves against Ukraine, having endured a worrying run of results previously, and showcased their attacking prowess as they ran out comfortable winners.

Here's the side Joachim Low should select against Spain.

1. Goalkeepers & Defenders

Manuel Neuer (GK) - Neuer is one of the first names on the team sheet and is another example of an iconic and well-respected German goalkeeper. His unique style always adds excitement.

Matthias Ginter (RB) - Ginter was sound defensively in the previous game, got forward at every opportunity and assisted Werner's second goal.

Antonio Rudiger (CB) - Rumours have swirled regarding a potential January move for the Chelsea man. He'll have another chance to impress potential suitors here.

Jonathan Tah (CB) - Tah sat out the last game and could return to the starting XI in this important fixture as the centre-back partner to Rudiger.

Philipp Max (LB) - Max offers the perfect symmetry to Ginter's attacking threat and will be hoping to wreak havoc from the opposite wing.

2. Midfielders

Ilkay Gundogan (CM) - Gundogan is a vital cog in the Germany machine and his ability to sit in front of the defence and dictate play is well established. Guardiola finds it hard to leave him out at Manchester City and Low thinks similarly.

Robin Koch (CB) - We have seen Leeds' Koch at the base of midfield and he offers both defensive and attacking advantages in the middle of the park.

Florian Neuhaus (CM) - Neuhaus was only good enough for the bench last time and will hope to feature in the middle alongside Gundogan here. Has been brilliant for Borussia Monchengladbach so far this season.

3. Forwards

Leroy Sane (RW) - Sane opted for a change of scenery when moving to Bayern Munich and being in more familiar surroundings in Germany has helped him have a great start to the season, scoring and assisting regularly thus far.

Serge Gnabry (ST) - Now one of the best players in the world after a frightening 2019/20 campaign, Gnabry forms the centre of what is a frightening front three combination.

Timo Werner (LW) - The Chelsea man was on the scoresheet twice in the last game and has translated his club form into goals on the international stage. He's a key man for the German national team and is part of the next generation for the four time World Cup winners.
