Fulham sign USMNT defender Tim Ream to contract extension

Fulham have signed US men's national team defender Tim Ream to a one-year contract extension through the 2024/25 Premier League season.
The 36-year-old continues to be key to the Cottagers' defense, making 13 league starts this term while registering one goal as they currently sit in 14th place in the Premier League table.
Ream originally joined Fulham in August 2015 from Bolton Wanderers, and the New York Red Bulls product has made a name for himself at Craven Cottage, making over 300 appearances during his time at the club.
"The Club is delighted to announce that Tim Ream has extended his contract," a Fulham statement read.
"The new deal will see him remain a Fulham player until the summer of 2025, by which point he would have been at the Club for a decade."
The left-footed center-back has helped Fulham earn three promotions from the EFL Championship to the English top flight, prompting many US-based soccer fans to become fans of the Cottagers with the emergence of fellow American Antonee Robinson.
Ream also continues to lead the USMNT backline with 55 total appearances since his first call-up in January 2012, as he suited up four times for the Stars and Stripes in 2023.
"It's nice to get this done. To be somewhere for as long as I have, it takes a lot of hard work," Ream added.
"To be able to say you are looking at being at a place like this for ten years is not something that happens very often these days. To be someone who has that opportunity is a great feeling. It fills me with pride to continue to adapt, to continue this rollercoaster that is football."
